Teresa

Before he sailed for Australia, Giuseppe married Teresa Pittorino.

Teresa was born in Filicudi in 1901, the daughter of Giuseppe Pittorino and Maria Paino. She had three sisters and nine brothers. For more on Teresa's family, click on Pittorino Family.

The Pittorinos ran a successful business at Filicudi Porto, and several of Teresa's brothers later emigrated to Western Australia where they worked in the local fishing industry.

One of the earliest photos we have of Teresa is this one taken with her sister-in-law Assunta and mother-in-law Caterina before leaving Filicudi:
